She’s thrown a tantrum of devastating consequences, so much so that more than 2 million people have been washed away like random strands of straw. Why is there a ‘she’ in my statement? Simple. Just like a woman stamps her feet and throws a fit if not bestowed with enough attention, Nature has a way of unleashing its fury every now and then when we start undermining it by ignoring it, maybe?
You though hell hath no fury like a woman scorned? I think we could replace it with nature any day!
The magnitude of the havoc that the districts of Bihar are facing, far surpasses my vocabulary of words. I can neither capture the pain, the loss and nor the utter helplessness.
Debate on whether this calamity is natural or man’s interfering ways have been resonating throughout the online spaces, newspapers have been doling out article tracing the change in the Kosi’s course, some of us have been blaming Nepal for the weak embankment that gave way under too much pressure.
All said and done, what are we doing about it? Apart from sympathizing with the cause…
